PRACTICALLY PERFECT IN A PARLIAMENTARY WAY!

The pupils had a challenge on their hands with this lesson; to construct their own mini parliament buildings, as part of a team - designing and then making their own wall, after having seen how to bend or cut and fold card and paper in different ways.  They had to come together as a team and it was great to see how passionately some of them worked together - you could definitely see who the Project Managers were in some of the teams

Inspired initially by some photographs of the Scottish Parliament building in Edinburgh  and after some discussion about SHAPE, the children made a rough plan of their own wall, deciding whether to cut shapes out of it, or using tabs, attach shapes to their walls.  They could use regular and irregular shapes, but were advised to keep their designs simple.  Some of their results are below.
